2020 has just begun. Along with another year, and the new decade comes a whole new set of goals and expectations.
We expect everything in our lives to be immediately better. It is not surprising that the diet books, gym memberships and weight-loss programs tend to increase sales in January.
As much as we can try to change what we do, change can only occur if we address the limiting self-beliefs that keep us stuck with feelings of needing to be “perfect”.
These self-limiting belief patterns, rooted in our early developmental years are carried through into adult life where they can result in self-destructive behaviour. Our brain is wired so that failure will result in shame or guilt.
We then move on and forget all about our goal of self-improvement… until the next New Year’s Eve.
