Our Mission
Wellness begins with awareness. The first step to building mental health is recognizing what mental health entails. Free Your Mind hosts periodic events that allow for professional education concerning psychological wellness.
Our goal is to spread deeper understanding
of youth mental health in Canada. We see power in sharing the personal journeys of those around us. We believe that stigma can only be broken when people take the time and listen to what mental health struggles, or emotional wellness, entails.
We want to leave our audience with the lasting benefits of mindfulness. We work to provide the public with the strategies and knowledge necessary to care for themselves, support their loved ones, and seek help when they need it.

This probably has more to do with individual preferences than hard cold facts, although don’t get me wrong: science could be backing up some of these self-care strategies. In this specific blog, however, I wanted to take a moment to appreciate some of the […]
Beyond Medication: The Science Behind Electroconvulsive Therapy
Hello, and welcome to another blog post! Today, I am going to discuss electroconvulsive therapy and treatment-resistant depression. Have you ever watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest? Thanks to outdated media portrayals like that, ECT has been widely misunderstood, and often feared, despite being one of the most effective tools we have in the fight against severe depression. It’s time we clear the air and talk about what ECT actually does, and why it still matters so much […]
